Logic Charts
The following logic tree charts are from API RP11AR
publications and are a systematic approach to troubleshooting
a problem well for your customer. Some of these charts require
the information from a well monitor or dynamometer; however they
are a good starting point when talking with your customer who
tells you what is happening at the bleeder valve on surface.
It is not always easy to determine what has caused
a well to lose production. The problem may involve tubing, rods,
casing, formation, as well as a subsurface pump. Using a dynamometer
to weigh the well and obtain basic load/time relation can help
the trouble shooting process.
The "logic charts" that follow outline
a systematic approach to problem well tests.
The following information needs to be collected
prior to weighing operations.
