Search Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

reciprocating pumps

finds documents containing 'reciprocating' or 'pumps'

reciprocating or pumps

same as above

reciprocating and pumps

finds documents containing both 'reciprocating' and 'pumps'

reciprocating not pumps

finds documents containing 'reciprocating' but not 'pumps'

(reciprocating not pumps) and WAIS

finds documents containing 'WAIS', plus 'reciprocating' but not 'pumps'

rod*

finds documents containing words starting with 'rod'
